Introduction...

Murray & Roberts Power and Energy invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of QC Level 2 Inspector/Reviewer for Medupi reporting to the QA/QC Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Medupi Power Station to be erected at the Medupi Site at Limpopo ,Lephalale, South Africa.

Minimum Requirements...

EXPERIENCE:
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
  • 3 - 5 years satisfactory experience as a Level 2 inspector with a minimum of 2 years’ experience on a similar project.
  • Experience in the dimensional quality control checks, of boiler structural steel and associated platforms (including pressure piping  / mechanicals).
  • Survey of structures and levels an advantage.
  • The ability to think up and implement innovative ways to solve / simplify complex and or repetitive problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
  • Matric,
  • Minimum L2 Welding Inspector.
  • NDT Level 3 – Advantageous.

Job Specification...

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE’S RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
  • To assist in the management of an effective quality inspection function in accordance with Legislative, Client and Murray & Roberts Projects and other requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
  • Ensure all inspections and requests are completed within the limited time frame.
  • Ensure all intervention points are signed as work progresses on ITP.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptually identify content and format of system outputs, workflows, procedures and integration requirements of MRP systems.
  • Ensure accurate input of engineering and operational data.
  • Compile regular progress status reports.
  • Handover inspection records in accordance with project programme.
  • Ensure all inspections and requests are completed within the limited time frame.
  • Closely liaise with the client and ensure a sound working relationship at all times.
