The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Supervise the daily activities of the site HR Assistants and Labour Control Assistants
- Effective operational HR execution within section in line with project requirements and HR standard operating procedures
- Recruit project labour within section to approved labour plans, policies and procedures
- Organize human resources and actively deal with unavailable labour within section
- Plan and coordinate the re-location of employees where required
- Provide accurate HR reports within time frames
- Receive and act on Time and Attendance reports
- Plan, organize and act on employee and industrial relations issues within section, including disciplinary hearings, in line with company policies, procedures and legislation
- Effectively coordinate HR initiatives in section within timelines
- Assist the HR Coordinator / Manager with union and community related issues/ requirements
- Perform audits against HR Standards Operating Procedure within section
- Proactively identify and mitigate HR risks
- Effective team and self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives.
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Human Resources related Degree / National Diploma at NQF Level
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exposure to an online recruitment system e.g. PNET
- Exposure to SharePoint or similar document management system (advantageous)
- Good Planning, organizing and administration skills
- Ability to supervise a team
- Good interpersonal skills
- Fully conversant in English (written and verbal)
- Possess a valid EB driver’s license
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 5 years of HR generalist experience in recruitment, manning, industrial and employee relations, disciplinary hearings and time & attendance, preferably in the mining industry
- Experience in supervising a team of HR Assistants and Labour Control Assistants
- Experience in conducting recruitment via an online recruitment system and assisting with the interview process
- Experience in implementing and upholding HR governance systems and processes
- Experience representing the company at the CCMA and assisting with the management of union and community relationships
- Sound knowledge of HR practices and legislation
