Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Mine Planner to be placed in Musina , Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Mine Planner. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
  • Prepare short and medium term mine planning and scheduling
  • Effectively integrate site layouts, survey notes, geological results and revised planning and layouts in accordance with MHSA regulations, quality standards and project scope
  • Prepare and update site layout requirements and plans
  • Monthly updating and comparing project plans to business plans and production targets and provide reasons and solutions to realign to project plan
  • Monthly updating and distribution of project plans
  • Implement and maintain project controls in collaboration with the project team
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly project reports and follow up on feedback received from stakeholders
  • Identify and monitor critical constraints
  • Summarise daily report delays and inform M&RC and Client accordingly
  • Prepare project schedules and charts
  • Receive Geologist reports and incorporate into the mine plan (mineral resource management)
  • Attend and participate in weekly planning and review meetings
  • Weekly preparation of variation / change order requests and maintain records thereof
  • Accurate capture of data onto the project management system

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
  •  Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
  • Advanced Survey Certificate/Valuation Certificate
  • Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency
  • Mineral Resources Management / Advanced Mine Planning (Advantageous)
  • Proficient in MS packages (Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Proficient in Micro Station or similar CAD software
  • Proficient in Primavera / Des wick mine planning software (site specific)
  • Proficient in English both verbal and written
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in underground trackless mining / shaft sinking / mine development / stopping / coal mining (site specific)
  • At least 4 years of experience working as a Mine Planner on short and medium term planning
  • Hands-on underground, metalliferous / fiery mine design experience in a 3D environment
