Key Responsibilities:
1. As Construction Manager the responsibilities include, managing of critical and/or high value projects.
2. Client progress reports, attending of meetings on and off site.
3. Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
4. Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
5. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
6. Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
7. Review the work progress on daily basis
8. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
9. Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
10. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
11. In terms of Construction Manager appointment my duties are as follows:
12. Communication with a range of people, including the Client; Contractors; Suppliers; the Public and the site employees.
13. Making provisions for safe working methods which will include safety organisation and planning prior to commencement of work.
14. Ensuring that all statutory registers; records and reports are maintained and that persons appointed by me are adequately experienced to enable them to carry out their duties.
15. Providing a programme of operations; requisite plans (including SHE Plan and its written acceptance, method statements) after potential hazards an associated risk of all activities have been identified.
16. Ensure that all reasonable safety and health measures are taken
17. Ensure that safety equipment is maintained regularly in good condition and ensuring that up to date records of the condition of equipment is kept (checklists)
18. Ensuring that immediate necessary steps are taken to avert any immediate threat on the health and safety of persons on site.
19. Ensure that you are part of investigations and reports on any accident or incident on site in accordance with the OHSA.
20. Ensure that health and safety statistics are reported and analysed on a monthly basis and communicated to the client.
21. Site Management including Liaising with all Clients, (internal and external) and Suppliers
22. Conduction of Site inspections and SHEQ audits on regular intervals
23. Coordinating and managing all project activity and ensuring project deliverables are achieved to plan.
24. Reviewed and approved all project documentation.
25. Leading, monitoring and managing a team in all aspects of estimating, Planning and resourcing.
26. Ensure that Health and Safety Management System is maintained.
27. Coordinating work for and providing direction to allocated staff to complete their deliveries.
28 Ensure teams have the necessary equipment and materials required to complete the job and that these are in a safe working order
29 Provide advice and guidance to team members on all disciplines based on knowledge and experience of the project specific assignment
30 Build relationships with relevant stakeholders including other project team members, the Client, all sub-contractors
31. Provide advice and guidance on design, detailing, fabrication and erection processes, procedures and specifications
32 Reduce costs and improve efficiency in workshops and on-site through value engineering of equipment and processes
33 Identify potential conflict situations and minimise the implications thereof
34 Manage time and attendance, performance and general discipline of the team and keep accurate and detailed record

Minimum requirements
Experience
· Minimum 5 years previous work experience in 132kV Overhead Power Line Construction
· Experience of Project Financing Process and Requirements
· Previous experience of managing projects through the construction process
· Experience of managing subcontractors and leading multi-disciplinary teams
· Experience of managing of minimum 30 staff members
· Experience of the renewable energy environment
· Administrative skills (MS Projects, Word, Excel, Power Point & JD Edwards)
Qualification
· Electrical of Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent B-Tech
· SACPCMP Certification
