Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Assembler Bentley Park, to be based at Raise Drilling Workshop, Bentley Park near Carletonville, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  •  Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
  •  Positions parts and subassemblies by using template or reading measurements and installation/assembly instructions
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  •  Verifies specifications by measuring complete component
  •  Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  •  Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  •  Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
  •  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:·

  •  Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  •  N2, with Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science and Trade Theory (Advantageous)
  •  Must be able to do repetitive work quickly and methodically
  •  Must be able to read and complete basic QCP’s (Quality Control Plans)
  •  Be fully conversant in English
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:· 
      
  • At least 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Assistant, i.e. Boilermaker
  •  Relevant working experience in earthmoving and trackless mining equipment workshops
  •  Must be fit to work underground
  •  Must not have a criminal record
