Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Foreman Engineering Bentley Park, within the M&RC Engineering Workshops near Carletonville, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Workshop Manager.
Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
·       Grade 12 or equivalent academic / technical qualification
·       Section 26 Recognised or equivalent Trade Certificate (Fitter / Diesel Mechanic)
·       Formal Supervisory training certification at Foreman level in planning, leading, organising and control
·       Have an aptitude for leadership and skilled in coaching and communicating in English, a people’s person
·       Computer and costing literacy in a timesheet, job card (preferably on JDE) and purchase requisition environment
·       Valid EB Driver’s licence & must not have a criminal record
·       On occasions be prepared to work overtime and remote work at sites
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
·       At least 5 years “on the tools” experience in troubleshooting, repairing, refurbishing and maintaining equipment, preferably in a workshop environment
·       At least 2 years of the 5 years in a senior artisan/chargehand position “on the tools” supervisory position
·       At least 5 years responsible for job planning, costing and quality paperwork records
·       At least 5 years as an appointed Foreman supervising Artisans and Technicians maintaining and repairing underground mobile equipment
·       OEM training on mobile equipment – training certificates to be submitted with application

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
·       Building in a respectful way and keeping work teams motivated, working safely, committed to completing tasks to high standards
·       Maintaining a high standard of good housekeeping
·       Developing subordinates, holding them accountable and managing their performance
·       Setting targets for subordinates and exceeding job targets and client expectations
·       Stripping, assessing, planning, & supervising fabrication teams (with technical accountability, to cost and schedule), and pre-assemble within an ISO 9001 document-controlled environment.
