• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
• Valid Winding Engine Driver’s certificate (must not have been out of service driving a winding engine for longer than a year)
• Valid Onsetters certificate
• Sound co-ordination skills
• Sound verbal and written communication skills in English

• At least 3 years’ working experience as a Winding Engine Driver in both surface and underground mining environments
• Experience of a variety of different winding engines (preferred)
• Medically fit to work underground
