Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective supervision of team’s daily tasks
- Plan and allocate tasks to team members in line with procedures and quality standards
- Inspect and maintain all lifting equipment in line with OEM standards and M&RC’s standards and safety protocols, report on defective equipment
- Cost containment through effective planning, no rework, availability of spares and equipment
- Identify and follow up on team member’s training
- Self and team understand and comply with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate and report timeously
- Effective self and team management and alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
- Will be required to work away from home and across borders
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability and experience in interpreting electrical drawings and conducting fault finding
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 5 years of mining industry experience in winders (PLC)
- At least 5 years of trade experience as an Electrician
- Understanding the working of AC and DC drives and motors
- Basic knowledge of programming AC and DC drives
- Basic knowledge of the interface of electrical supply to hydraulic
- Physically fit to work underground
