Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
· Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
· Plan and execute a rigging equipment maintenance schedule according to OEM specifications and company standards
· Identify coil and inspect ropes
· Protect ropes using various techniques
· Maintain winder ropes, attachments, sheave wheels/ conveyors, and assist with shaft slinging
· Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards and schedules
· Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies and procedures
· Perform mini risk assessment prior to commencing work
· Plan the job in terms of standards and required resources and draw up a schedule to guide the execution thereof
· Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
·
- Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
- Section 26 Rigger/Ropes man Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body
- Muscular strength to do rope splicing
- Valid Code EB driver's license
- Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
- Covid-19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- 10 years mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- 10 years trade experience as a Rigger / Ropesman
