Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Adhering to company policies and procedures and also comply to Health and Safety requirements
- Responsible for medium to long term planning
- 3D mine design and system integration
- Effectively interface/integrate activities/delays pertaining to the shafts levels to meet project deliverables
- Plan and monitor critical milestone on projects plan and inform stakeholders of any changes and opportunities
- Prepare sensitivity studies and scenario planning
- Prepare and update the long term and life of mine plans
- Report monthly on variations of actual projects plans to business plans and provide solutions to realign to project plan
- Receive summarised daily reports from Mine Planners and Surveys for incorporation into long term plan and inform M&RC and Client accordingly
- Receive Geologist reports and incorporate into the mine plan
- Identification and monitoring of critical constrains
- Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Mine Engineering National Diploma / Degree (advantageous)
- Advanced Survey Certificate/Valuation Certificate (not essential if degreed)
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency (preferred)
- Mineral Resources Management (advantageous)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Projects, Word & PowerPoint)
- Covid- 19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in underground trackless mining / shaft sinking / mine development
- Hands-on underground, metalliferous mine design experience in a 3D environment
- Experience in medium and long term scenario planning and reporting thereon
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
