Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective cost control through efficient safety management practices
- Effective self-management in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
- Accurate, timely completion of Safety Officer's Inspection and Logbook
- Accurate, timely, thorough investigations of incidents / accidents
- Proactive risk mitigation and compliance
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- National Diploma in Safety / Risk Management or equivalent at NQF Level 6 [advantageous]
- Blasting Certificate
- COMSOC 1 & 2
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]
- Audit certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Valid EB driver's licence
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 3 years’ experience in a relevant mining production field as a Safety Officer
- 3 years’ experience in the mining sector
