Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Shift Supervisor Mining to be placed in Mponeng Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Shift Supervisor Mining. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Safe achievement of production and quality targets in line with DMR, M&RC and client requirements
• Stakeholder engagement
• Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC 1st Choice values and leadership initiatives
• Supervise and lead underground crews to achieve production and quality targets to project scope
• Cost containment through effect cost control and efficient target achievement
• Self and team understand and comply with legal regulations and M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols
• Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and target achievement
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation in alignment with legal regulations and M&RC’s standards, policies and procedures
• Accurate, timely, relevant reporting and administration
• Effective risk management and compliance with MHSA, SHEQ, M&RC and client requirements

• 3 years’ experience in an underground mining environment as a Miner
•  Exposure to acting as a Shift Supervisor would be advantageous
•  Depending on the role he or she is performing, mining, sinking, development, stoping and/or Timberman experience could be required
•  Mining, sinking, development, stoping and Timberman experience (Preferred)
•  Knowledge of SHEQ standards and requirements
