Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of TMM Digitalization Specialist to be placed in Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  • Source, select, plan, set up & maintain the TMM surface/underground digital networks/systems timeously within budget
  •  Implement software that delivers meaningful actionable information for maintaining machine health, operator skill & TMM utilization
  • Installation of instrumentation hardware on TMM & fixed plant on surface & underground
  • Extract, analyse & interpret maintenance & digital system data accurately, & communicate to line managers
  •  Provide coaching on digital hardware maintenance, & system fault finding & repair, to the engineering / mining teams & provide input for training modules
  • Maintain SLAs for technical support & system maintenance with the relevant suppliers
  • Develop a site system inspection plan, carry out site audits & compile reports
  • Conduct trouble shooting for system integration in collaboration with the IT dept.
  • Develop & enforce digitalisation standards, policies & procedures within area of responsibility
  • Effective implementation of controls & systems to mitigate risks
  • Adhere to M&RC's & the Clients’ policies, standards and Procedures
  • Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC values & leadership initiatives 

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
 
•    National Diploma Electronic / Electrical Engineering or; Qualified Artisan in any of the following areas, with relevant       automation training [N6 preferred], Automotive / Earthmoving mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, Instrumentation or               Millwright
•    ECSA registration as a Technician (advantageous)
•    Qualification in Software Design or Process Control (advantageous)
•    N Certification or any other Networking qualifications (advantageous)
•    Proficient with computerized Maintenance, Production Control, Machine Health digitalization systems; with ability         to analyse & interpret data
•    Specialist TMM OEM knowledge on relevant TMMs and fixed plant [Completed TMM product training certifications       with earth moving and underground mining equipment suppliers
•    Proficient in MS Office [Visio, Excel] and Data analysis software 
•    Valid Driver's license and Passport
•    Planning, organizing and report writing skills
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working on open pit/underground TMMs or heavy earth moving machinery
  • Minimum 3 years of experience repairing & maintaining CANBUS systems
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance systems experience & interpreting reports from digitally captured data, including   graphic trend interpretations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience setting up digital network and/or PLC interfaces & trouble-shooting Wi-Fi, leaky feeder and fibre optic communication systems
  • Minimum 1 year of experience installing and testing machine data collecting units
  •  Sound knowledge of trackless mining machinery & application of TMM equipment operation and field maintenance methodologies
