Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Engineering Planner to be placed in Venetia Mine, Alldays, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Engineer. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•    Effective planning of specific project equipment to achieve productivity as per project scope
•    Effective scheduling and monitoring of specific project equipment, manage backlog and labour limitations /                   constraints
•    Determine skills, materials and resource requirements timeously and allocate to tasks following  consultation                 with supervisor
•    Develop and maintain the site maintenance schedules, analyse data from the computerized management                       maintenance systems and identify trends and areas of improvement
•    Initiate procurement of spares and consumables to ensure availability
•    Liaise with the maintenance systems manager to on-board new machinery and provide site performance                        information
•    Comply with legal regulations, M&RC and Client’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
•    Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiative

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
 
•    Mechanical or Electrical Artisan Trade Certificate [S26] or National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Electrical               Engineering
•    Proficient in computerized maintenance systems
•    Proficient in MS Office [Excel, Word, MS Projects]
•    Supervisory Development Program [preferred] 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, including a customer service orientation
•    Excellent planning and organizing skills
•    Analytical, solution and deadline focused
•    Attentive to detail with ability to focus on and juggle different tasks simultaneously
•    Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
 
•    Minimum 5 years of experience as an artisan or in an Assistant Engineering Planner role on a mine or in a factory
•    At least 5 years of experience as a Foreman (advantageous)
•    Experience in an underground / surface mining environment / in a vertical shaft section particularly in an earth                moving equipment or trackless mining environment [site specific]
•    Knowledge and experience in remote condition monitoring of equipment [site specific]
•    Experience in developing reports and analysing data obtained from equipment will be advantageous.
•    Suitable experience in critical & rotable spares management, OEM and service providers refurbishment and stock            management and Stores management systems.
