Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop subordinates to achieve production and safety targets
- Effective and efficient management of all TMM and construction work at the designated area within project engineering key
- performance areas (which includes, but not limited to, project scope, scheduling, budget, planning and procurement)
- Quality control of products and equipment supplied to sites
- Effective setting of standards / procedures, implementation and monitoring thereof
- Effective management of various installations simultaneously
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
- Maintenance of plant and equipment to best industry benchmarks of cost effectiveness, availability and reliability
- Effective implementation and operation of the planned maintenance management system
- Routine construction to specification of infrastructure supporting TMM mining
- Team and self-understand and comply with regulations and M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols
- Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
- Proactive risk management of contract in line with legal responsibilities as per legal appointment
Minimum requirements
- BSc, BTech or National Higher Diploma Engineering from a recognised institution
· DMR Government Certificate of Competency to practice as an Engineer (GCC Mines and Works - Mechanical or Electrical)
· Project Management qualification (advantageous)
· ECSA registration (advantageous)
· Proficient in MS Office including MS Projects
· Valid Driver’s license
· Medically fit to work underground
· Enablement and leadership skills
· Project and change management skills
· Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations
· Solution focused, resourceful, innovative problem solver focused on incremental continuous improvement of TMM performance
· Reporting skills (progress, quality, planning and scheduling)
· Passionate about safety leadership and engagement
· Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate and resolve issues
- Minimum 5 years of primary production mining experience at engineer level, of which at least 3 years as a legally appointed engineer for TMM equipment with control of related maintenance teams and systems
- Experience in infrastructure installation and maintenance
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and designs
- Experience in predictive maintenance analysis and conducting failure and trend analysis
- Experience in working within project allowables
