Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Project Coordinator to be placed in Impala 16 Shaft. The successful candidate will report to the Project manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  •          Monitor and update raise drilling schedules on MS Projects
  •          Assist the Project Manager with export / import administration of plant and equipment in line with permit requirements within timelines
  •          Draft commercial letters as required per contract
  •          Verify that project timelines are met as per CCS
  •          Monitor commercial risks within required timelines
  •          Interpret engineering drawings and mine layouts and assist with the execution thereof
  •          Maintain and update the drawing register for all projects
  •          Maintain and update the client communication register for all projects
  •          Update and track contract amendments
  •          Update and maintain project handover register
  •          Understand the commercial and legal aspects of all projects
  •          Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
  •          Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
  •          Project Management Degree / Advanced Project Management Diploma NQF 6 or similar
  •          COMSOC 1 & 2 (advantageous)
  •          Proficient in Microsoft Office [MS Projects [essential], PowerPoint, Word and Excel]
  •          Administrative competence
  •          Ability to plan, organise, schedule and coordinate activities
  •          Ability to work under limited supervision
  •          Valid Driver’s License and passport
  •          Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
  •          Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination and planning in a mining environment
  •          Basic knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contract laws
  •          Experience in orepass rehabilitation and underground construction
  •          Proficient and experienced in technical / commercial drafting of letters
  •          Experience interpreting engineering drawings and underground mining plans
