Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Master Sinker to be placed at Ivan Plats Platreef mine, in Mokopane, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•        Running the full sinking operational cycle

•        Be able to fit into a multi-disciplinary team and give direction to the team.

•        Safely achieve production targets in line with contractual requirements 

•        Effective Sinking operational management ( all aspects;- batch plant operation, ventilation and service extensions, the lining operation, mark, drill and blast cycle )

•        Accurate, timely, relevant administration and reporting in line with legal appointment.

•        Effective risk management and compliance with MHSA, SHEQ, M&RC and client requirements

•        Ensuring the safety of all employees under his/her control

•        Enforce and monitor all risk assessment processes and liaise with safety department     

•        Be responsible for environmental and housekeeping standards.

•        Be willing to assist in developing new methods of sinking to enhance safety, productivities and efficiencies.

•        Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives
