Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
• Running the full sinking operational cycle
• Be able to fit into a multi-disciplinary team and give direction to the team.
• Safely achieve production targets in line with contractual requirements
• Effective Sinking operational management ( all aspects;- batch plant operation, ventilation and service extensions, the lining operation, mark, drill and blast cycle )
• Accurate, timely, relevant administration and reporting in line with legal appointment.
• Effective risk management and compliance with MHSA, SHEQ, M&RC and client requirements
• Ensuring the safety of all employees under his/her control
• Enforce and monitor all risk assessment processes and liaise with safety department
• Be responsible for environmental and housekeeping standards.
• Be willing to assist in developing new methods of sinking to enhance safety, productivities and efficiencies.
• Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
• DMR Mine Overseers` Certificate of competency (Essential)
• Blasting certificate
• Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
• Covid-19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
• Sound verbal, written and computer communication skills in English
- Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
• 7 years of shaft sinking and Engineering experience
• Team leadership and management experience
