Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Artisan Millwright, to be based at the Cooke 1 Shaft near Westonarea, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Foreman
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective supervision of team’s daily tasks
- Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
- Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team player
- Engineering installations are constructed, overhauled and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
- Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, procedures and schedules
- Effective stakeholder engagement
- Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Millwright Trade Certificate
- Valid Driver’s license
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 5 year's mining industry experience (underground and surface
- 5 year's trade experience as a Millwright
- Advanced maintenance and repair knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, engines, drives, electrical control systems, electrical installations, motors, switchgear, pumps, mobile machines, brake systems ,inspections and Pipe column design.
- Experience on mobile trackless equipment and rail/trackbound equipment
- Knowledge and experience in installation, maintenance, fault finding and calibration of batch controller and PLC weighing systems
- Knowledge of trackless mining and trackless mobile machinery, Fabrication and installations.
